Brittany Murphy was born November 10, 1977 in Atlanta, Georgia, USA.
After her parents divorced when she was only two, Brittany traveled
frequently when she was young, and eventually started working in local
theatre productions when she was only nine years old, including a
singing role in "Les Miserables." By age twelve she was doing
commercials and from this she found roles in television series, starting
with "Drexell's Class," and moving on to "Family Prayers," and "Sister,
Sister."
Brittany Murphy's first significant movie role was in "Clueless," along with
Alicia Silverstone, playing Cher's best friend, Tai Frazier (1995). Her
next notable appearance was in "Girl, Interrupted" along with Winona
Ryder and Angelina Jolie. She continued her work, finding roles in
comedies, dramas, and scary movies. Like other young actresses, who have
found additional work in voice acting for animated characters like
(Amanda Bynes in
"Robots"), Brittany's other notable work
includes the voice-over of Luanne in the classic television
cartoon series "King of the
Hill." She has also appeared in "Don't Say a Word" (2001), Uptown Girls
(2003), and "Little Black Book" (2004).
