Cheryl Ladd was born Cheryl Jean Stoppelmoor on July 12, 1951 in Huron,
South Dakota. At an early age she took dancing and singing lessons,
then in high school performed in a jazz trio, traveling through the
Midwest to the west coast, seeking a professional niche. When the jazz
ensemble disbanded, Cheryl remained in California to pursue her dreams.
Her first break was singing backup for an animated show, "Josie and the
Pussycats."
Cheryl Ladd later appeared in commercials and acquired a small role
in a 1973 movie, "Jamaica Reef." That same year she married David Ladd.
It was in 1977 that Cheryl made it to the big leagues when she was
chosen to replace Farrah Fawcett on "Charlie's Angels," after Farrah had
left the show after only one year. Cheryl filled the space in style and
quality, and much to the approval of the expectant fans.
