Heather Locklear was born September 25, 1961 in Los Angeles. She was
enrolled at UCLA as a psychology major and worked in modeling when she
was discovered by a casting director and encouraged to take acting
classes. This led to television guest spots on shows such as "Eight is
Enough," "The Fall Guy," and "CHiPs," and made her want to follow acting
as a full-time career. She received her break when she was cast as
Sammi Jo in "Dynasty," the highly popular television soap serial, and
had additional television exposure as a police officer on T.J. Hooker,
along with William Shatner.
Heather Locklear's movie roles were not as fortunate,
landing a minor role in "Firestarter," and "The Return of the Swamp
Thing," where she earned an award as the Worst actress of 1990. She was
added to the cast of Melrose Place, and her presence increased the
ratings, and she was voted Best Actress in a television Drama four years
years in a row as a result. She has also appeared in the flicks,
"Wayne's World," "The First Wives Club," "Money Talks," and "Uptown
Girls." She also captured a spot on the ABC sitcom, "Spin City,"
alongside Michael J. Fox which added to her string of hits.
