Kate Hudson was born on April 19, 1979 to comedian Bill Hudson and
comedian actress, Goldie Hawn. Her parents divorced when she was very
young and by 1983 her mother found a more lasting relationship with
actor Kurt Russell whom Kate considers to be her father. Kate first
appeared in a movie at age 7, playing Goldie Hawn's daughter in the 1986
film, "Wildcats." After graduating from an Arts and Sciences school,
Kate enrolled in NYU's School of Drama.
Pursuing a career in acting, Kate set out to acquire an agent and sought
acting roles, but it wasn't until 1999 that she appeared in a number of
films, including "200 Cigarettes" and "Desert Blue." After a few more
undistinguished efforts, she appeared in Cameron Crowe's "Almost
Famous," for which she won an Oscar nomination. She followed this with
2002's remake of "Four Feathers," and the romantic comedy, "How to Lose
a Guy in 10 Days." She has been married since December 2000 to Chris
Robinson, and expects to be focusing on raising a large family.
