Monica Bellucci - Italian Actress
Monica Bellucci was born on September 30, 1968 in Citta di Castello,
Umbria, Italy, fellow countrywoman of
Asia Argento,
actress and director. While studying law at University,
Monica decided to try modeling in order to pay her tuition. It wasn't
long before Monica had moved to Milan, Italy
(where model
Michelle Hunziker would also commence her career). There,
she signed with a
modeling agency. A year later, in 1989, Monica found success in Paris
and New York, but before long she was taking acting classes and was
preparing for a second major career change. Her films for the first two
years were made for television local productions, but in 1992 she
appeared as Dracula's bride in Bram Stroker's "Dracula," alongside Keanu
Reeves and Winona Ryder. More Italian films followed. In 1996, her role
in the French film, "L'Appartement" earned her a Cesar nomination, the
French equivalent of the Oscar.
