Rebecca Gayheart was born on August 12th, 1972 in Hazard, Kentucky, USA.
With Irish, German, Italian, and Cherokee roots, the coal miner's daughter
was raised in nearby Pinetop, Kentucky before moving to New York City when
she was only fifteen years old. Like many young artists-in-making, she
attended the Professional Children's School and later the Lee Strasberg
Institute, thereafter starting a career in both modeling and acting. Her
earliest appearances were in Noxzema skin cream commercials while she was
still in her teens, earning her the label of "The Noxzema Girl." At age
twenty, she entered the soap opera world, joining the cast of Loving as
Hannah Mayberry. Three years later she acquired a recurring role in the
popular television series, Beverley Hills, 90210.
Rebecca made it to the big screen in 1996 in "Somebody is Waiting." Most
of her subsequent roles were aimed at the teenage market, and she often
appeared in horror thrillers, including Scream 2 (1997) and Urban Legend
(1998). Other flicks include Nothing to Lose (1997), Puppet (1999),
Harvard Man (2001) and Pipe Dream (2002).
In 2001, Rebecca was involved in a tragic automobile accident, resulting
in a wrongful death lawsuit and requiring her to perform community service
public announcements. She later had an accident in a rental car that
crashed into two parked cars.
In 2006, Rebecca performed as Judy Nash in a Fox television series,
"Vanished," but the series ended when it was cancelled.
