Sarah Michelle Gellar - actress and vampire hunter
Sarah Michelle Gellar was born April 14, 1977 in New York City. Like
fellow New Yorker,
Emmy Rossum, she started entertaining at an early age, acting by age
four when she first appeared in a Burger King commercial. It wasn't until
she was fifteen, that she next made a splash in a teenage soap opera,
"Swan's Crossing." This was followed by the more daytime series, "All
My Children." Not surprisingly the young star won a Daytime Emmy Award
for outstanding younger leading actress in a Drama Series. Her next
step up with in the highly popular and long-running "Buffy the Vampire
Slayer," which made her a household name wherever the series aired in
North America and around the world.
Sarah Gellar has appeared on the big screen in a handful of projects,
none of which has achieved success for her approaching that of Buffy the
Vampire Slayer. Sarah's films include "I Know What You Did Last
Summer," "Scream 2," and the live-action adaptation of the cartoon,
"Scooby-Doo," and its sequel. Sarah Gellar has sung several songs from
an episode of Buffy the Vampire Slayer which resulted in an original
cast album. In 2002, Sarah Gellar married Freddie Prinze Jr. in Mexico.
Note: The name, Sarah, is still consistently near the top in the
annual lists of top ten baby names for girls.
